CELEDONIO GARRIDO – singer (Spain)
Born in Moguer, Spain, Celedonio Garrido was taught the fandango style of flamenco song from his grandfather, including the amazing communication between heart and voice required for that song. In 1987, he became more curious about other styles of flamenco song, and, in 1996, moved to Seville to connect with other flamenco students and masters of the art. Naranjito de Triana became Celedonio’s mentor, citing his “big soul and big voice with powerful energy“. Always singing for dancers (and mostly dancers from outside of Spain), Celedonio loves the amazing relationship with and connection between music, rhythm and movement. His flamenco singing style is delicate and precise; his voice a unique combination of softness and very strong vocal projection. Celedonio has performed all over the world, from Morocco to Seattle, and he is currently based in Berlin and performing between Spain, Germany and Canada.
